Hidden in the
beautiful Vale of Montgomery sits Holly Cottage; a Georgian
self catering holiday cottage. Its tranquil
rural setting makes it the perfect place in which to relax and an
ideal base from which to explore the many attractions of Mid
Wales including Powis Castle National Trust at Welshpool. Two
miles
away is Kerry village which has a pub restaurant and shop with
post office and two miles in the other direction is Abermule
also with two pubs serving food and a shop. The ancient towns of
Newtown, Welshpool and Montgomery are all nearby with antique
shops, museums, castle ruins and art galleries. On
the border of Powys and Shropshire, Holly Cottage offers a comfortable rural retreat
away from the rush and bustle of modern life.

high quality self catering
accommodation for 2 or 3 people. It is ideal for a couple, 3
friends or a small family. The cottage has a private enclosed garden and pets
are welcome.
There is a lot to see and do in this beautiful area of The
Marches including walking, cycling, golf, horse riding, castles to
explore and pretty villages and towns.
Nearby are the dams of Lake Vyrnwy and the Elan Valley which
offer spectacular views across the countryside of Wales.
There are many walks from the door step as well as easy access
to well known walks such as Offas' Dyke, Glyndwrs' Way and Kerry Ridgeway.

Self Catering Mid Wales is a family run holiday business and
home of Paul & Michelle Martin and their 2 young children. In
addition to Holly Cottage there are 3 other 4 star holiday
cottages, a log cabin and a 5 star bed and breakfast located 2 miles away
in a beautiful secluded location in Kerry. All 5 cottages are
well equipped and include:

Secluded setting of Hodley in the Vale of Montgomery, Mid-Wales
 Holly Cottage nestles in a small hamlet called Hodley,
mid way between Newtown,
Welshpool and Montgomery on a quiet road known as the Dingle. It is reached from a
little country
lane which hardly sees any traffic.
Holly Cottage's central location on the border of Wales and
England, and good road links makes it an ideal base with
easy driving to Welshpool, Montgomery, Shrewsbury, Chester,
Ludlow, Machynlleth and Builth
Wells. Slightly further away lie the beautiful Brecon Beacons,
breathtaking Snowdonia and the Cardigan Bay beaches of
Aberystwyth with Aberdyfi and Borth just
an hour's drive away.
Guests staying at Holly Cottage are welcome to use all the
facilities at The Forest, 2 miles away, at any time.
At The Forest Tennis Court, Play Area, Games Room and
Timber Fort, Hot tub, Swimming Pool
The
Forest has a tennis court which all guests may use.
There is also a children's play area with a climbing frame,
slide and swing and large timber fort with a Flying Fox zip
wire.
We have a games room with various table games for older children
and adults to enjoy such as pool, table football and table
tennis. For swimming there are swimming pools at the leisure
centres in both Newtown and Welshpool.
An outdoor hot tub jacuzzi spa may also be available to hire
for exclusive use whenever Forest Cottage is vacant.
The hot tub spa has 26 jacuzzi jets for an all over body
massage and is kept at a comfortable 38 degrees C. It is
located to the side of Forest Cottage and is not overlooked
ensuring complete privacy.
There is also a laptop available at the B&B for internet
access and free WiFi.
