Directions from Newtown:
Take the A489 (Kerry Rd at McDonald's traffic lights) for 4 miles
passing through Kerry. 1 mile out of Kerry take the left fork sign posted
Abermule and follow the B4368
for 1 mile to Hodley.
At the small group of houses on the right, by the yellow grit
bin, before the red phone box, take the right lane. Holly cottage is Number 6 Upper Hodley,
the 4th cottage at the end of the small terrace of 8 cottages
Directions from Welshpool: Take the A483
towards Newtown but turn left into Abermule and follow the
B4368 to Hodley. At the small group of houses on the left
past the red phone box, by the yellow grit bin, take the left lane. Holly cottage is
Number 6 Upper Hodley, the 4th cottage at the end of the small
terrace of 8 cottages. Directions from Ludlow: Take the
A49 to Craven Arms
and then the A489 towards Newtown, drive through Glanmule village
and then turn right sign posted
Abermule onto B4368, then follow instructions
above. Bus or Train: The nearest stations are 3 miles away in Newtown,
taxis are usually available or can be booked at Station Cars
on 01686 621818.
The Forest,
Kerry Directions from Newtown:
Take the A489 (Kerry Rd at McDonald's traffic lights) for 3 miles
and just before you enter Kerry, take the right turning sign
posted
The Forest into Gilfach Lane.
Follow the narrow winding lane for approximately 3/4 and the entrance to The Forest
Cottages
has black metal gates and is on the left, just past the brook.
Directions from Welshpool: Take the A483 all the way to Newtown
(McDonald's traffic lights) and follow above. If you use Sat Nav
you may be directed onto a narrow lane at Morrison's
Supermarket. The lane cuts the corner but is not recommended
for most cars. Directions from Ludlow: Take the A49 to Craven Arms
and then the A489 towards Newtown. drive through Kerry village
and Gilfach Lane is the first left turning after you exit the
village, sign posted The Forest.
